If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, even there shall Thy hand lead me, and Thy right hand shall hold me.

SURINAME MISSION OKTOBER 20-30 , 2000

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ:

We knew, from the early planning stages, this was going to be a major
spiritual battle. Satan threw serious obstacles in the path of Wings of
Morning and Aalt Fikse, the Salvation Army pastor with whom we worked in
Paramaribo, Suriname. We had early and ongoing problems with the government and the airlines.Team members had many problems ranging from health to financial. There were several times we thought we might not get approval to go. Packed boxes of medicines and supplies had to be changed and redone to accommodate changes in airline requirements. We encountered the worst conditions of heat and humidity we have ever seen, further draining the strength and energy from the team members in spite of drinking large quantities of water, juices, and sodas. A feeling of Satanic oppression hung over the site and could only be removed by intense prayer.

In spite of all Satan threw at the team and the many local Christian fellow
laborers, our God achieved a massive victory. The twelve man team, with the help of a number of local Christian nurses, treated 1,102 people in medicine and dentistry.

More importantly, we saw 577 people pray to receive the Lord! This is the
greatest number we have seen since we took a team of 63 people to Guyana six years ago!

There will be more to come in our newsletter which will come out soon.

We fervently thank you for your prayers! Without your prayers and support,
this would never have been done.

God bless you.
